    Albukhary Capacity-building Initiatives

Malaysia faces a shortage of bumiputera talent to engage effectively in a nation that is rapidly moving up the value chain. There is a need for capacity building at various points, from students, skilled workers to professionals, both in terms of relevant skills and outlook, so they can actively participate in a Malaysia racing to become a developed nation by 2020.

To hasten capacity building of the bumiputra community, the foundation contributed RM10 million in 2012 for the Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputra to implement a range of programs that will raise the competency and competitiveness of bumiputra talent.

    Young Bumiputra Entrepreneurs Congress

The Bumiputra Economic Empowerment Agenda continues to dominate the public domain, with the intensification of initiatives to realise its goals. Another initiative supported by the Albukhary Foundation was the sponsorship of the Young Bumiputra Entrepreneurs Congress in Kuala Lumpur in 2014. Entitled “The Economy Unites Us”, the congress targets young Bumiputra entrepreneurs to embrace new business ecosystems and partnerships with the government to forge ahead.
